GRAPHIC DESIGN

Personal Logo

To create my personal logo, I used the graphic design software Adobe Illustrator that lets the user create shapes with the help of vectors. For my logo, I first wrote out my name by putting together not connected sticks. The single sticks make the design look a bit edgy. I added the first letter of my last name to my first name to create an effect of framing. I selected a style from the, from Adobe Illustratior provided style library for my writing to make the writing look a bit wavy and interesting. I then put a frame around all the letters using the pen tool, that automatically connects the lines you draw and helps you draw straight lines, and selected another style from the style library to fill it. I picked red, yellow, and blue fading into each other as the filling colours because they are the colours of a sunset. On my view my logo brings across a feeling of relaxation and freedom and has a modern, innovative style.

Holy Cross 25th Anniversary DVD Case Cover

As it is the 25th anniversary of Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School this year, we had the exercise in class to design the case cover for a documentary about Holy Cross and how our school has developed the past 25 years that we produced in class as well. This case cover was designed in Adobe Photoshop. For my case cover design, I decided to use a green background, as the school colours are green and silver, and green is brighter and more standing out than grey. I used the brush tool to paint the background in green, but made the brush be the shape of leaves to make the background look uneven. On the front side of the cover I have the 25th anniversary logo in addition to the name of my school. This is innitial information that the buyer of the DVD needs to know. For the back of the case I decided to show different pictures of Holy Cross and it's students from today and 25 years ago. These pictures show the strengths of Holy Cross, the academics, the school spirit, the sports, and the tech department. Underneth the picture collage there is Holy Cross' motto: Once a Crusader, Always a Crusader.
